Elevating ethical considerations in AI and automation to safeguard human rights and societal well-being.

Driving ethical AI advocacy one voice at a time.

The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on the American Workforce:

During the year 2024, the United States experienced the beginning of a silent labor crisis, especially in the tech sector and manufacturing, due to companies streamlining their operations with AI, saturating the market, displacing thousands (Forbes) and favoring profits over human labor.

With no regulations in place on AI, the current rise of AI Agents and Elon Musk's latest announcement regarding the release of humanoids into society in the near future, the impact on white- and blue-collar jobs could not be dire for the survival of the American workforce.

The time to act for ethical AI is NOW.

As a displaced tech worker unable to reenter the saturated job market in the past 12 months due to tech companies streamlining their operations with AI, combined with the overutilization of applicant tracking systems (ATS) automatically rejecting job applications, I have witnessed a dramatically transformed hiring landscape compared to 2022.

Once viewed as the “new oil,” my field of data analytics has been forever changed by latest technological advancements, such as the rise of tools like ChatGPT, leaving me to wonder how secure my skill set will remain in the years to come.”

AI is here to stay. Upskilling and reskilling now are essential to remain relevant in a rapidly evolving labor market.

Europe’s Warning on the Impact of AI on the American Workforce:

In January 2024, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) sounded the alarm, warning that developed countries like the United States will face unprecedented shifts in its labor market, impacting all sectors. She stated that up to 60% of workers could be affected in some way by AI and automation, describing a labor market without precedent that could be described as being “hit like a tsunami,” and that people are “not ready” to cope with the disruptions.

What proactive steps are the U.S. taking to address the “unconvenient truth” of AI potentially surpassing human intelligence within the next 5 to 20 years?

“Almost everybody I know who is an expert in AI, believes that they will exceed human intelligence, it’s just a question of when. In between 5 and 20 years from now, there is a probability of about a half the world will have to confront the problem of them trying to take over.”
